Agrivert, a company which provides composting technology and services, was looking to educate the local authority, waste management and wider consumer markets about the environmental and cost benefits of composting.
We developed and implemented a PR strategy to deliver a relevant message to each of these different audiences. We have also been able to raise awareness among key stakeholders of Agrivert’s expertise in designing, building and operating organic waste plants on behalf of utilities, councils and major waste companies throughout the UK. We have been able to successfully communicate Agrivert’s experience and capabilities by securing sponsorship and speaking opportunities at key trade events. We have also organised projects to raise awareness of environmental issues among consumers.
Through the media we have instigated debate in the industry on controversial topics such as landfill and incineration and their role in waste management alongside composting.
We have also been able to reach the consumer as an influencer through comment in the local media and by positioning Agrivert’s composting solutions as an alternative to overuse of landfill sites. By influencing and motivating consumers we aim, in turn, to influence their local authorities. It has also been important to convey the benefits of composting to local communities in Oxfordshire and other regions where Agrivert has installed sites, to increase understanding and minimise any potential resistance.
Whilst it has been important that Agrivert achieves visibility within its marketplace, visibility alone is not enough. We also use PR to provide a call to action, to support data capture and to maintain regular communication with decision makers.
